Caritas KMD, through its strategic plan 2013 -2017, has for close to half a century worked in partnership with local communities to assist the marginalized communities in the five districts of Kiboga, Mityana, Mubende, Kyankwanzi and Ggomba with the aim of uplifting human rights and dignity and promoting the respect of human rights and humanity in general..

  • Engage in research and advocacy to inform policy formulation for local government and the church
  • Support development of community action plans for KMD communities that highlight their priorities for inclusion in Sub County and District plans
  • Support networking and collaboration among actors and local government to address critical key community needs
  • Conduct research, documentation and dissemination of structural, cultural, socio economic, religious issues that affect active participation of women
  • Support the exploration and applications of appropriate technologies and processes that reduce domestic workloads for to release them to engage in more profitable engagements
  • Targeting men and boys on issues affecting women and girls like GBV, property ownership, inheritance etc
  • Strengthen and empower women community based structures to enhance their participation in decision making on matters affecting their lives and take advantage of existing opportunities
  • Promote civic education for all persons at all levels in KMD communities Empower Church Councils/structures on their roles, duties and responsibilities concerning human rights and good governance
